Original Transcript All right, guys. So, I just um wanted to make a video as I was making another video. I uh and my nose keeps leaking. I um I remember doing projects. I remember doing projects in junior year, senior year and graduate school that used things like SAS, SAAS, um statistic, it’s like statistical computation software, mat lab, wolf ram, and uh I remember doing these projects and in in I I did everything typed up in like Microsoft Word very professionally because I’ve been an author for a long time. It was just natural for me to type these things up. And I remember I I didn’t keep these projects. I didn’t keep them. I threw them away. But I made video. We were required to make videos of us explaining the project, talking about the project, articulating the project, and then we have nice nice neat PDF documents holding the project. I did everything typed up professionally. Everybody else did it with drawing. My my videos were my demeanor, my speaking, my speech skills. They’re all like, “Why aren’t you teaching the C?” Even the professor was like, “The work I did was behind her skill set.” She’s like, “Wow.” I’m like, “Well, I just because you got a PhD doesn’t mean you know more than me. It just means you made original research.” And she was from another country, too. And it takes usually a lot less time to get a PhD in another country than it does America. I’ve been doing this for a long time. All right. Mo most of the people I meet that have PhDs, they immediately are like, “You want to work on my research team?” Or, you know, “Why aren’t you at the university?” I’m like, it’s just the world the pandemic that just happened this way. But I want I want I just I’m constantly trying to those those of you who come here and disagree with me or are confused about what I’m saying because it seems so offbalance. You’re like, “Wait, we shouldn’t be watching Khan Academy. We shouldn’t be writing by hand. We should be going to lecture. We should be reading the textbook. We should be using Microsoft Word. What are you talking about?” I I for Microsoft Office tools. had I saved those projects. Had over the years, if you’re saving the projects you do in college, you can store them on that website. And I’m I’m I’m showing you also how to learn how to build a WordPress website as part of Plum Academy. And basically, you’re mimicking everything I’m doing. than when you’re in when you’re in uh your junior senior graduate courses. This is important kids. Don’t just fart through these projects. Take these projects very seriously because sometimes these these job applications, they want to see projects that you’ve done and in your mind you’re like, I’ve done no projects, but you have. You just haven’t done them professionally. There’s no reason for you to save them. It’s just it’s like chicken scratch nonsense. But if you change the way you present yourself in college or approach college and you focus on everything you do as professional and done the way that they want to see it in the professional world, then you’re going to walk away with a world of experience that’s going to separate you from everybody else when you apply for a job. And that’s what for the for the your own personal website that hosts the resume. I’m showing you guys how how to type all of this stuff up professionally, how to create professional documents, how to use AI with your skill set to make something professional that you can put on the internet that forms a resume that has all kinds of skills and you have your own WordPress website at the end of the show and you get to take that with you when you leave. I mean, anybody that wants to learn how to build a WordPress website. Uh, but uh so I if if you’re in college, you should be super attentive to the professional side of what you’re doing for your resume. If you’re doing projects in college, you should do everything professionally typed up. That’s the whole purpose of this channel is to show you how to do that. If you if you feel that you need to use types set software, fine. After you watch me do it and you and you see how easy it is and how much faster it is, you will disagree with your initial response. Everybody always does. They they just you don’t know how to use Microsoft Word. That’s why you think it sucks. You think it’s primitive because you don’t know how to use it. You’re you’re like a you’re like it’s like Bill Gates versus Apple or whatever. Like PC very complicated, difficult to use. Apple smooth works effectively. And a lot of people at first, oh, I would never use an Apple. It’s it’s way too easy. I like I like more work, more labor, less efficiency.

You if you’re if you’re in college, it is so important that you use Microsoft Office tools for your homework. There’s the handwriting side. Maybe you’re in class taking notes. Maybe you’re taking an exam, practicing for that exam. You’d probably want to practice for that exam by writing by hand. There’s that side of it, but there’s the professional side. And so I what I’m trying to do is get I’m I’m trying to get you guys in the mindset of like three years from now, three years from now, you got this website with your with your resume. You know how to build WordPress. You know how to use Microsoft Office tools. You know how to use Latte type set. You know how to do uh all kinds of things. Mat Labs uh different you’ve had exposure with this with that with those. You have all your own projects that you did on your own that you put on your website that when you apply for a job, you can say here’s my resume. Uh here’s all the projects that I worked on over the past few years. Here’s the work that I did with the team of Plem Academy. Here’s the project I did for Plem Academy which gave me the certificate. But that forget that project. Your your college projects in junior, senior, and graduate level or just individual practice projects. You have a place to host it professionally. And I’m showing you guys how to host it professionally as part of that. But but if you’re a college student and you if you’re not interested in Plem Academy, that’s fine. I’m not doing this as a sales pitch to you. I’m telling you that that’s a one way to go about it with me. Just for your own personal future resume, learn how to use Microsoft Office tools to do your homework. Do it as professional as possible and document it all and have a file on your computer or something so that you have reference of the work that you did so that you can say, “Hey, these are projects I worked on.” Because those projects are meant to mimic what you’re going to do in the workforce. They’re meant to give you a real world kind of sample example of what you’re going to do in the workforce using all these different things. So when I was in grad school, I was doing a project and with with SAS, it’s this statistical thing and I had to take a I had to take a question from the real world on my own of my own interest and apply it to this this very complicated statistical model and type it up in SAS and all these things. And I was like, had I saved that project, you guys understand? Had I saved that project and had it stored on my website, that would get me a job at so many different places because there’s so many companies that need people that know how to use that software and how to articulate it all. And I just I just realized this right now, how how useful your project homework is for your future resume. And uh so anyways, so I wanted to share that with you guys.
